Sneak peek for the Shaw family ✨ . These portraits are especially emotional and precious to me because this sweet little girl, Ellaree, doesn’t easily look at the camera. Ellaree has cerebral palsy from an agnostic brain injury that happened when she was 5 months. . Many people were against or concerned about the Blake and Merenzi’s decision to have a second child because of Ellaree’s disability, assuming that she would no longer get the attention she needed from her parents. But, as is almost always the case, her parents knew best. . Since their new little bundle of joy joined their family, Ellaree has blossomed. She went from smiling once every six months to smiling multiple times a day. She now smiles, laughs, talks, and even tries to play more. Her bond with her brother is so special, and he motivates her to keep up with him. Having a second baby didn’t take away from Ellaree, but instead, it added immense joy to her life ♥️ . Parents of children with special needs are so incredible. If you know someone with a special needs child, just know that they may parent differently than you, but that they know their child best and are working with their child’s best unique interests at heart. This is such a good reminder to us to all to remember that we all have our own journeys to walk.

Just another day in the office ✨
Saguaro Cacti are, indeed, really big.

Goodbye, Blue Skies☁️
heading off to my final trip of 2019. Nashville > San Diego > Vegas > Barcelona > Nice > Monaco > Ecuador > Bahamas > New York > London > back to New York > Cancun > final stop Arizona. I don’t know how this is my life, but I *do* know shampoo and $300 got me here. The thing that runs through my mind every single day is that God can and does use any avenue, any tool, any opportunity, no matter how crazy it seems. He equips the called if they have enough faith to be a little weird. what a ride. ✨

It’s our 100th day traveling the country! Drove through Saguaro National Park today, so beautiful, I love the desert cactus and mountains! Also visited Old Tucson, a movie and television set for Westerns, pretty cool!

24/52 If I had to find one lesson or take away from the overall feel of spending the day walking through the beautiful prickly cacti of the Saguaro National Forest I would have to say it was that they taught me that... 🌵Setting clear personal boundaries is important and necessary. 🌵 You are allowed to do, say and tell people what you need. The boundaries you set for yourself are not meant to hurt anyone else but they are necessary for you to survive and thrive as the best version of yourself. The people who value, love and care for you may not always understand but will respect your boundaries. And the people who are hurt, upset and angry about limits you set for yourself are not your people. Sometimes doing what is right for you, not allowing certain things or people in your space. Not entertaining certain energies or conversations may make you look like a prickly cactus and that’s okay #hikingheals #clearmindopenheart #imnotforeveryone #thereisbeautyinboundaries #handlewithcare #cactus #saguaronationalpark #Whereiwander #itsawanderfullife #optoutside #diversifyoutdoors #girlswhohike #52hikechallenge2019 #saguaro #howloften

I’m not great with the words and those of you that know me well know I’m a super private person... But I just want to put out there that I have so much to be thankful for... My husband of 23 years who my ROCK, my oldest son and his wife who are expecting their first child, my youngest son whose midnight belly laughs wake me up but I just can’t be mad... The deep gulps of dry desert air clearing the last of the crud from my lungs... The multitude of cacti sculptures sparking childlike joy in my heart... The dreamy clouds that look like someone painted them on the sky... Life is an adventure. Find the things that bring you joy. Don’t forget to explore and find the wonder in things. 🌵💛🏜 #desertdreamer #grateful #naturewanderer #adventurizing #teamblackbird #sagebrushheathen #tucson #saguaronationalpark #cactus
